The following personnel lost their lives while serving with 198 Squadron RAF and are remembered here.

F/O JAMES L. ALLAN DFC, RCAF.
Aged 23. Service Number J19586. Lost over South Beveland, Holland on the 5th of November 1944 while attacking targets on the Walcheren Islands. He is buried in the Schoonselhof Cemetery, Antwerp, Belgium.

Sgt ERNEST J. R. ANSELL RAFVR.
Aged 21. Service Number 1235559. Engine caught fire and crashed into the English Channel 5 miles south of Dover on the 1st of April 1943. He is buried in the City of London Cemetery UK.

W/O STANLEY BARNES RAFVR.
Aged 22. Service Number 1430715. Killed when he crashed on take off during the 2nd October 1944 at B53. (Merville) He is buried in the Calonne-Sur-Lys Communal Cemetery, France.

Flt/Sgt EDWARD L. BARTLEY RAFVR.
Aged 23. Service Number 976897. Shot down by flak near Duclair on the 15th of June 1944 and was killed when he baled out too low. He is buried in the Envronville Churchyard, France.

Flt/Sgt PETER S. BARTON RAFVR.
Aged 21. Service Number 1395272. Ditched into the English Channel after engine failure on the 23rd June 1944 and was killed. Having no known grave he is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial, panel 215.

Sgt JOHN BLACKIE RAFVR.
Aged 20. Service Number 1551014. Crashed while doing flight trial aerobactics at Little Bealing, Suffolk, on the 19th June 1943 and died the following day. He is buried in the New Patrick Cemetery, Dumbartonshire, UK.

Flt/Sgt FRANCOIS BONNET, Free French.
Aged 27. Service Number 31344. Reported as missing from operations in the Vimoutiers area on the 19th of August 1944, presumed shot down. Flt/Sgt Bonnet has no known grave.

F/O JOHN T. BOUNDY DFC, RAFVR.
Aged 21. Service Number 124789. Killed on the 18th of September 1944 when he was shot down by flak north of Cap Cris Nez, France. Having no known grave he is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial, panel 204.

Lt PIERRE BRISDOUX C de G. Free French.
Aged 30. Service Number 31099. Killed on 8th of December 1944 when his aircraft crashed in flames near Hoevelaken after attacking enemy headquarters at Amersfoort, Holland. He is buried in the Pere Lachaise Cemetery, Paris, France.

Aged 22. Service Number 1336532. Reported as shot down by flak on the 20th of September 1943 near Vladslo. He is buried in the Vladslo Churchyard, Belgium.

Aged 20. Service Number 152108. Crashed into the sea while on RP practice trials off Llandbedr on the 28th April 1944 and was killed. Having no known grave he is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial, panel 204.

P/O DONALD J. CAMPBELL RCAF.
Aged 21. Service Number J94418. Killed on the 16th of February 1945 while making a rocket projectile attack on flak positions east side of the Reichswald Forest. He is buried in the Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, Kleve, Germany.

P/O RAYMOND T. CASEY RAAF.
Aged 22. Service Number 437196. Killed when he was shot down by flak near Bremen on the 23rd April 1945. He is buried in the Becklingen War Cemetery, Germany.

Aged 22. Service Number 127810. Killed when he crashed taking off at Martragny on the 31st of July 1944. He is buried in the Ryes War Cemetery, Bazenville, France.

Aged 23. Service Number 171936. Shot down by flak near Carentan on the 14th June 1944 and was killed. He is buried in the Bayeux War Cemetery, France.

Aged 22. Service Number 63456. Shot down by flak on the 20th January 1944 near the St Omer area while on weather reconnaissance duties and was killed. He is buried in the Le Parcq Churchyard, Pas de Calais, France.

Age 24. Service Number J/9473. Killed on the 5th September 1943 when his Tiger Moth suffered engine failure and crashed into the English Channel one mile north of Margate. He is buried in Margate Cemetery, Kent, UK.

Aged 29. Service Number 63418. Killed while Commanding Officer of 198 on the 22nd of June 1944 when his aircraft was hit by flak near Cherbourg. He is buried in the Bayeux War Cemetery, France.

Flt/Lt ROBERT H. DEUGO RCAF.
Aged 21. Service Number J15076. Killed while attacking a train in the Ypres/Menin area of Belgium on the 20th of July 1943. He is buried in the Diksmuide Communal Cemetery, Diksmuide, Belgium.

P/O JAMES S. FRASER-PETHERBRIDGE RAFVR.
Aged 21. Service Number 175289. Shot down by flak near St Aubin-Sur-Algot on the 20th of June 1944 and was killed. He is buried in the Le Pre-O'Auge Churchyard, France.

Aged 26. Service Number J22448. Killed in a mid air collision over target at Cap de La Hague, Jobourg, France, on 24th May 1944. Recommended for the Victoria Cross, but not granted. He is buried in the Bayeux War Cemetery, France.

Aged 22. Service Number 412514. Reported as missing from operations near Vimoutiers, France, on the 19th August 1944. He is buried in the St. Desir War Cemetery, France.

Aged 20. Service Number 133426. Killed over the English Channel on the 31st of December 1943 when his aircraft collided with another. Having no known grave he is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial, panel 125.

Aged 21. Service Number 124409. Crashed into sea 8 miles south of the Isle of Wight on 25th November 1943 after his aircraft suffered structural failure. Having no known grave he is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial, panel 125.

Aged 23. Service Number 1374972. Reported as missing from operations over Northern France on the 7th of February 1944. He is buried in the Poix-de-Picardie Churchyard, France.

Aged 24. Service Number 405916. Reported as missing from operations over France on the 13th January 1944. (Presumed shot down) He is buried in the Roye New British Cemetery, France.

W/O WILLIAM A. LIVESLEY RAFVR.
Service Number 1451431. Shot down on the 2nd of March 1945 by American P51s (Mustangs) during an attack on Rhine shipping in the Neusse area and was killed. He is buried in the Venray War Cemetery, Holland.

Aged 25. Service Number J18187. Killed during a "Ranger" operation on the 7th of February 1944 when his aircraft failed to pull out of a dive. He is buried in the Churchyard at Poix de la Somme, France.

F/O HENRY H. MACKENZIE RCAF
Aged 24. Service Number J18188. Killed on 3rd of January 1944 when his aircraft was shot down between the Forest of Compiegne and Le Touquet, France. He is buried in the Marissel French National Cemetery at Beauvais, Oise, France.

P/O DONALD W. MASON RAAF.
Aged 25. Service Number 413220. Shot down by flak while attacking enemy transport near Caen on 18th of June 1944. His remains were not found until 1992 and buried in the St Charles de Percy War Cemetery, Normandy, France.

F/O MATE A. MILICH DFC, RNZAF.
Aged 23. Service Number 429666. Shot down by flak during an attack against enemy headquarters near Hoevelaken, Holland, on the 8th of December 1944. He is buried in the Woudenberg General Cemetery, Holland.

Aged 23. Service Number 612310. Crashed after engine failure near Caen on the 8th June 1944 and was killed. He is buried in the Hottot-Les-Bagues War Cemetery, France.

Sqn/Ldr JOHN NIBLETT DFC, RAF.
Aged 24. Service Number 47516. Killed while Commanding Officer of 198 on the 2nd of June 1944 when his aircraft was shot down by flak near Dieppe. Having no known grave he is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial, panel 201.

Flt/Lt OSCAR H. ODEN RNZAF.
Aged 21. Service Number 417095. Shot down by flak on the 11th of December 1944 near Zaltbommel, Holland, and died from injuries received on the 12th. He is buried in the Utrecht (Soestbergen) General Cemetery, Holland.

Flt/Sgt EDGAR T. L. OSBORNE RAAF.
Aged 24. Service Number 409272. Crashed into the sea during shipping strike off Oosterschelde on the 2nd of September 1943 and was killed. He is buried in the Bergen-op-Zoom Canadian War Cemetery, Holland.

F/O WILLIAM G. PARKES RAAF.
Aged 20. Service Number 420497. Killed when he overshot landing and crashed at Lydd on the 9th March 1944. He is buried in the Brookwood Military Cemetery, England.

Flt/Lt DESMOND P. PERRIN DFC, RNZAF.
Aged 25. Service Number 404404. Crashed when a tyre burst taking off at Merville on the 10th September 1944 and was killed when his aircraft turned over and caught fire. He is buried in the Le Treport Military Cemetery, France

Flt/Lt NORMAN C. PYE DFC, RAFVR.
Service Number 117513. Died from injuries received in a military motor vehicle accident on the 8th of April 1945 in Holland. He is buried in the Jonkerbos War Cemetery, near Nijmegen, Holland.

Aged 28. Service Number 519996. Shot down by flak near East Weeze on the the 24th February 1945. Having no known grave he is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial, panel 269.

P/O LESLIE W. SELLMAN RAFVR.
Aged 22. Service Number 186099. Shot down by flak near Goch on the 14th of February 1945 and was killed. He is buried in the Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, Germany.

Aged 28. Service Number 128365. Crashed onto the bank of the river Waal after engine failure 1km north of Dreumel, Holland, on the 20th of December 1943 and was killed. He is buried in the Uden War Cemetery, Holland.

W/O GORDON J. STOKES RAAF.
Aged 21. Service Number 412747. Crashed near Lislieux, France on the 7th June 1944 and was killed. He is buried in the Les Moutiers-Hubert Churchyard, France.

W/O CHARLES E. STRATFORD RAFVR.
Service Number 1091690. Shot down by flak on the 22nd August 1944 near Cormeilles and was killed when his aircraft blew up. He is buried in the Martainville Churchyard, Eure, France.

Flt/Sgt REGINALD A. THURSBY RAFVR.
Aged 22. Service Number 1321893. Reported missing near Falaise Gap on 9th of August 1944. His remains were found during September 1984 and buried in the St Charles de Percy War Cemetery, Normandy, France.

P/O EDWARD VALLELY RAFVR.
Aged 22. Service Number 177407. Collided with another aircraft and crashed on target while attacking a radar station at Cap de La Hague, Jobourg, on the 24th May 1944. He is buried in the Bayeux War Cemetery, France.

P/O ROBERT R. WALTERS RAFVR.
Aged 20. Service Number 144462. Crashed into the sea off St Annes Pier, Lancs, on the 26th May 1943 and was killed. He is buried in the Lytham St. Anne's Cemetery UK.

Aged 30. Service Number J13467. Killed on 31st of December 1943 when his Hawker Typhoon was in collision with another over the English Channel. Having no known grave he is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial, panel 175.
